It surprises me how little western theme decor there is out there for kids. It shouldn't be that hard to find cowgirl, cowboy and horses theme related items.
Since I wrote the above paragraph (several months ago) more items have come on the market. Yay!

For the older children . .
You're right, this is a dining table and chairs. But! How about putting it in your teen boys room? It would work great for doing homework, or when the guys come over for playing games and cards. Put some nice comfy cushions on the chairs and he'll be all set.
If he wants to use it as a desk, put it up against the wall and just use one chair. Hang some wall shelves above the table and add a table lamp or get a nice desk lamp. Use the extra chair by the bed or over in the corner.
If he's a teenager, and you're looking for furniture, (if you have the room) why not go all the way and get the queen size bed so it can last him for years?
