More Transportation Theme Decorating Ideas
For this transportation theme, you could paint the walls green on the bottom, blue above, and paint a guard rail all around the bottom of the room, or even on just one wall.
If you're feeling ambitious, paint a tree or two growing behind the guard rail. If you're really brave you could paint roads curving around on the walls, using black with white or yellow dashed lines down the center. But if he can reach them, I see cars and trucks being raced all over the walls, which might be something that you don't particularly want.
It would be fairly easy to paint a town. Business buildings are basically just blocks with rectangular windows and houses are blocks with a triangle for a roof. Get out the kids' coloring book for some ideas.
Target.com has several different transportation theme bedding sets. Try searching their site for Transportation, Hummer, Roadwork or Road Trip in the kid's bedding section. also has a couple nice sets relating to automobiles, and if you're looking for crib bedding sets try Dreamtime Baby
, they have a bunch of them!
If you want an area rug that serves double duty, get one of those that are a little town with roads and all. The kids can use this to play on with their cars, plus it adds a nice accent to the room.
Add a traffic light bank, and a few road sign pillows and some other cute accents and you'll really have all that you need.
