Putting Together a Barbie Theme Room
If you're talking Barbie theme, you're talking some pink and lavendar in there somewhere. So try not to go into sugar shock while you pull this one together and don't over do it!
Walls - Color and Treatment
Since the majority of the barbie items are mainly pink, a soft buttery yellow, pale lavender or light aqua would look good on the walls.
You could probably get away with (dare I say it?) white walls with this theme. The only problem I'd see with white walls, would be if you went with the white furniture. It'd be too much white and the furniture would get lost.
If you have white walls, and use the soft pink sheers at the window, the Glamour Border Stick-Ups, or the wallpaper border, the pink bedding. . . how could you go wrong?
But if you & your daughter are more into the dramatic, paint the walls aqua with white trim and white doors, and do the same as above. You get a totally different look that has a bigger kick.
Mattell needs to get in gear. On a recent search, it seems that Barbie Decor items are hard to find in the online or retail department stores. You can however still find a decent supply of the Barbie Theme on Ebay.
Window Treatments
If you check out the Barbie theme bedding, you'll see that most of them have the swirls on them, so the swirl sheers would be perfect.
Just about any of the delicate window treatments that you see for girls would work. All you need to do is keep in mind how much of each color you're getting in the room.
